Cast required. Could you be one of the following ?
Tony: early / mid 20’s – Geeky guy. Untrusting of most people and essentially a loner. The early death of his parents causes a severe lack of ‘security’. To compensate Tony has relations with other who are lost and alone. These include a host of animals or wildlife. His very small
number of associates include Frank and James.
James is the nearest thing that Tony has to calling a friend. A grave digger / gardener colleague in his early 30’s, he is a cocky, self-assured, reckless, good talker whose raison d’etre is..‘Life is our one shot at happiness and in any case we all end up as worm food !’ His zest for living is in stark contrast to Tony’s view on life. Tony has come to rely upon James as the only bright spot in an otherwise pretty bleak landscape. James however does not regard Tony in an entirely reciprocal manner.
Frank: A veneered exterior masks a very streetwise and ‘not-to-be-messed-with’ reputation. He looks after those he considers ‘family’ but those who cross his path should beware since he is a powerful man who can make life easy or hard for you. He has loaned sums to Tony over a number of years, chiefly based on a death bed promise to Tony’s dad who at one time was an associate.
Suzy : A waitress who gets ‘dumped’ regularly. She has few needs and is looking for a reliable meal ticket. She truly loves only her cat. She is a bit ‘thick.
Amy - The outsider who comes into this heady mix. She has worked in advertising for a number of years and her most recent campaign was to promote Wales as a holiday destination. She landed the project because of her own distant Welsh ‘background’. Dangerously over 30 and not yet 'settled’. Though attractive on the outside to others, this is no compensation because on the inside, she knows how empty she feels. Bad relationships with a string of unworthy loser, the latest break-up, coupled to the end of her current assignment and a emotional clearing-up process in the wake
of the passing of her grandmother, has prompted her to take time out. She needs to take a rest from the 9 to 5 rat race and try to hit the re-set button. A friend advises her that part of the reason she has trouble in finding the right partner is connected to the fact she isn’t comfortable with her own existence. She needs to find herself before she can be of any use to anyone else. She has baggage. Amy resolves to find out more about the past lives which gave rise to her own. She is searching for something of REAL value in contrast to the hype and bullshit of the marketing world she inhabits. She seeks sanctuary. Amy decides to visit Wales for the first time
Julia – Amy’s sensible friend
Around 40. Witty but world weary. The sort of friend
everyone should have. Wise but not too wise.. funny but
not too funny…. Pretty..but not too pretty.
We hope to shoot in late Summer of this year in South Wales. This is dependent upon suitable cast being available.
